Privacy Policy

Christine Kempton Coaching (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you visit www.christinekempton.com, use our Thinkific course site, complete our forms or quizzes, purchase our offerings, subscribe to our emails, or otherwise interact with our business (collectively, the “Services”).

1. Information we collect

Information you provide. We collect information you submit through forms, purchases, accounts, course activities, surveys, or communications. This may include your name, email address, phone number, billing address, professional information, communication preferences, quiz responses and results, and messages or reflections you choose to share. The information collected depends on the Service you use.

Purchase and account information. Our course and payment providers collect information needed to process payments and maintain your account. We receive transaction and account records, which may include the product purchased, amount paid, payment status, billing details, and account contact information. Payment card details are handled by the payment providers used at checkout rather than collected through ordinary email or contact forms.

Course and content activity. Our course and content providers may record logins, lessons viewed, course progress, activity submissions, video interactions, and completion information. If continuing education credit is offered, we may also collect the information needed to administer and document that credit.

Technical and usage information. Our website and connected providers may collect your IP address, device and browser information, referring pages, pages visited, visit times, and interactions with forms and content. Email technologies may record message delivery, opens, and link clicks. Information is collected through cookies, pixels, logs, and similar technologies, depending on the Services and settings in use.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide purchased courses, resources, and other requested Services.

  • Process payments, maintain accounts, and respond to questions.

  • Deliver quiz results, requested resources, and course communications.

  • Send marketing emails to subscribers and manage communication preferences.

  • Understand engagement and improve our content and Services.

  • Measure advertising performance and support relevant advertising.

  • Maintain security, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations.

3. Providers and disclosures

We use service providers to help operate our business, including:

  • Squarespace: website hosting, forms, and website analytics.

  • Thinkific: course accounts, delivery, enrollment, and participation records.

  • Klaviyo: email subscriptions, signup forms, communications, email engagement information, and onsite activity tracking as described below.

  • Payment providers: payment processing, transaction records, and fraud prevention.

  • Quiz, video, scheduling, client-management, and automation providers: delivery of the corresponding Services and transfer of information needed to operate them.

These providers receive information related to the functions they perform. Some also process information for their own purposes under their privacy policies.

We also disclose website activity information to Meta through the Meta Pixel as described below.

We may disclose information to professional advisers, where reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of our business, subject to applicable legal requirements. We may also disclose information when you authorize us to do so.

4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Our website uses essential cookies to support functionality and security. Nonessential cookies and similar technologies can help us understand website traffic, remember preferences, measure advertising, and deliver relevant advertisements.

Meta Pixel. Our Squarespace website uses the Meta Pixel to help measure how people interact with the website after viewing or clicking advertisements and to support relevant advertising on Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. Depending on your permissions and browser settings, Meta may receive technical information and website activity, such as pages visited and actions taken. Meta may associate this information with information it holds about you. See Meta’s Privacy Policy for its practices and available choices.

Klaviyo onsite tracking. Our Squarespace website includes Klaviyo’s onsite JavaScript, which supports signup forms and onsite activity tracking. Klaviyo may collect browser and device information, cookie identifiers, and website activity to help us understand engagement and personalize communications. When a browser is identified, such as through a signup form or an email link, website activity may be associated with that person’s subscriber profile. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not, by itself, disable website tracking. See Klaviyo’s Privacy Center for more information about its practices.

Your cookie choices. Our Squarespace cookie banner lets you accept nonessential cookies, decline them, or manage your preferences. Essential cookies remain necessary for the website to function. You can revisit your choices using the website’s cookie-preferences control. You can also manage cookies through your browser, although blocking some cookies may affect functionality. Choices on our Squarespace website do not automatically apply to separate services such as Thinkific or third-party quiz sites, which may provide their own controls.

Advertising disclosures through pixels may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising under certain privacy laws, even when no money is exchanged. Where applicable, you may exercise the corresponding opt-out rights through available privacy controls or by contacting us. Advertising preferences on Meta can also be managed through your Meta account.

5. Email subscriptions and choices

We use Klaviyo to manage email subscriptions and send newsletters, resources, and promotional communications. When you choose to subscribe, we process your contact information and subscription preferences. Where double opt-in is enabled, you will be asked to confirm your subscription by email.

Purchasing a course does not require subscribing to marketing emails. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us. We may still send necessary receipts, account notices, access instructions, and updates affecting a Service you purchased.

Our emails may use pixels or tracked links to measure opens and clicks and help us understand engagement. Email tracking and website cookie choices are separate; contact us with questions about available controls.

6. Personal reflections, shared spaces, and publicity

You may choose to share personal experiences in messages, forms, or course activities. These submissions may be stored by the relevant provider and accessible to us as needed to deliver the Service. Please avoid submitting patient-identifying information, medical records, or confidential information about other people.

Posts in shared course spaces may be visible to other participants. We ask participants to respect one another’s privacy, but cannot guarantee that others will keep shared information confidential.

Participation does not authorize us to publicly identify you as a client or course participant or use your name, image, private messages, or personal story in marketing. We seek separate, affirmative permission for those uses.

7. Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing purchased access, maintaining business records, meeting legal obligations, and resolving disputes. Retention depends on the information involved and the reason it is held. Limited subscription-suppression records may be retained to honor unsubscribe requests.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the laws applicable to our business, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of certain advertising uses or disclosures.

To make a request, email christine@christinekempton.com. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within applicable legal timeframes and explain any relevant exceptions. Certain records may need to be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes. Deleting information needed for a course account may affect access.

Where applicable law provides a right to appeal a decision, you may request an appeal using the same email address. You may also have the right to complain to a relevant privacy regulator. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing lawfully performed before withdrawal.

9. International processing

We operate in the United States. Our providers may store or process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, those requirements apply to our handling of your information.

10. Adults-only Services

Our Services are intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. Other websites and services

Our Services may link to or embed third-party websites and services. Those providers’ privacy policies describe their own information practices. This policy describes our practices and does not replace theirs.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices change. We will post the updated version with a revised date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law.
